OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Trinity's outreach ministries have been built around the three core values taught in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, revealed in Acts 2:41-42; Luke 10:25-37 and Matthew 28:19-20. These three core values can be summarized as follows:

1.    To help people grow spiritually in their relationship with God.
2.    To love our neighbors in the church, community and the world.
3.    To offer Christ to people outside our walls.

All outreach activities held at Trinity are FREE and are offered to the community in Love. Everyone is welcome!

Stew for the Soul
How about a free lunch?! The first Saturday of each month, members of the church prepare a hearty stew for the community and all those that walk through the doors of the church. Stew is served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome and donations will not be accepted.

Denison Helping Hands
Non-perishable food items are collected the first Sunday of each month for the Denison Help Hands local food pantry. Items most needed include canned meats, soups, cereals, peanut butter, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, rice, beans, flour, sugar, canned vegetables, crackers and dried milk. All donations are greatly needed and greatly appreciated.

Safe Place
Trinity is a designated "Safe Place" site for any youth that needs a "safe" place.

Kid's Pantry
Family outreach - children currently eligible for the free lunch program through their local school are furnished nutritional meals during extended breaks from school.

The weekly Backpack Program provides food to Denison students who may be at risk of going hungry over the weekends. Students are referred to us by school principals, teachers and counselors.

Project Transformation - Starts 6/8/09
This is a two month summer day camp which operates Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and is lead by college interns for students entering 1st through 6th grades. The primary component is reading. Each child is paired with a volunteer to read one-on-one each day. Other activities include: fitness, visual arts, craft, music, theater and field trips. Families are invited to attend a monthly family fun night that includes fellowship, food, games and a presentation by the kids.

Registration is limited to 80 kids. Priority is given to kids who qualify for the free or reduced school lunch program. The registration fee of $5.00 per child is paid by Trinity's Outreach Program. For more information contact the church office at 903-465-4996.
